Patient Transfer Drivers

Our Patient Transfer Drivers (PTDs) are responsible for safely transporting patients from pick up to drop off, including driving and conducting regular safety inspections. PTDs work either independently on our Wheelchair circuit, providing bed-to-bed transfers to patients who are ambulatory or semi-ambulatory, or work with a Patient Care Attendant as a two-person crew on our Stretcher circuit, providing bed-to-bed transfers to patients who must lay down or need assistance navigating stairs. PTDs drive our Ambulances, Buses, and Minivans.

Patient Care Attendants

Our Patient Care Attendants (PCAs) are equally responsible for safely transporting patients from pick up to drop off, with a focus on providing accompaniment and support to patients during transfers. PCAs work with a Patient Transfer Driver as a two-person crew on our Stretcher circuit, providing bed-to-bed transfers to patients who must lay down or need assistance navigating stairs. PCAs work in our Ambulances and Minivans.

Call Takers & Dispatchers

Our Call Takers work out of our sophisticated Dispatch Center and are responsible for taking new transfer bookings, and providing support to patients, medical staff, and field crews by phone. In addition to phone support, our Dispatchers are responsible for daily field operations and ensuring that field crews are assigned to transfers efficiently and that patients get where they need to go on time. Our head office is located in Abbotsford, BC.

Our Specialized Training

In addition to the Driver’s Licence and Occupational First Aid & CPR certification requirements prior to employment, all new Drivers and Care Attendants  must undertake our bespoke patient transfer training curriculum, which combines classroom knowledge, practical training, and online components to ensure we operate with the highest standards in the fast-paced world of healthcare. Successful completion of the program and continuous learning is a requirement to ongoing employment.
